About the Panelists

Shiva Bhardwaj

Shiva Bhardwaj is the Founder and CEO at Pitstop. While earning a degree in Electrical & Computer Engineering from UWaterloo, Shiva spent time working at NVIDIA and Blackberry. Shiva started his entrepreneurship journey by inventing ShockLock (https://www.shocklock.ca) which brought a safe, simple and cost-effective hardware solution to the automotive world. The second innovation has been Pitstop (https://pitstopconnect.com). which was an inaugural participant in the Techstars Mobility Accelerator program securing investments from Sensata, Verizon, Ripple Ventures & BDC to name a few (https://venturebeat.com/2020/10/01/pitstop-announces-series-a-for-automotive-predictive-maintenance-platform/).Shiva has been recognized as the Vaughan Entrepreneur of the Year & SEMA 35 Under 35.

Sarah Applebaum

Rejoining Pangaea Ventures in 2020, Sarah brings almost a decade of venture capital and company building experience to the team. Sarah has cultivated expertise in building entrepreneurial teams, scaling early stage ventures, and venture financing. Sarah is an active mentor to early stage entrepreneurs and a startup community activator and advocate.

Alex Theodorou

Alex is a researcher turned entrepreneur. He received his H.BA (York University) in Psychology and Linguistics, and MSc (McMaster University) in Cognitive Science of Language. His past work focused on mechanisms of recovery, neurolinguistics, and acquired brain injury. He has shared his work across North America serving as a guest lecturer, keynote speaker, and TEDx presenter to an online audience of over 26 million viewers. Having seen brain injury as both a researcher, and caregiver, he saw the challenges and bottleneck of limited time, resources and staying engaged in care from both patients and professionals. In 2019 he launched Neurofit (formerly Ocutherapy) as a way to provide accessible and transformative healthcare experiences to solve this growing issue.
